Biography: Malvolio is the head servant of Olivia, and does not like drinking and fun. Despite his servant status, he thinks of himself as a noble and acts like a noble as well. He is also snobby and has a bad attitude toward everyone. [1] Malvolio does not like Maria and he dreams of becoming royalty. He is also hated by Sir Toby, Sir Andrew, Maria, and the Fool. They send him a fake letter from Olivia saying that she loves him and telling him to wear ridiculous clothes. When Olivia sees him like this, she thinks he is possessed by the Devil and Sir Toby, Sir Andrew, Maria, and the Fool tie him up and throw him in a closet. They were going to get a priest and perform an exorcism to get rid of the "Devil" within him. The priest actually the Fool and he messes with Malvolio while he is in the closet. Malvolio is not totally convinced by all of this. Malvolio also finds out that the priest is actually the Fool and he persuades the Fool get paper and a pen with ink to write a letter to his love, Olivia.
Olivia asked him to give Cesario (Viola) a ring that "he forgot" so that Olivia would have another chance to talk to him.
Malvolio is not too forceful and fails to chase Viola away from Olivia. [2]

Malvolio is so egotiscal he even fantasizes what it would be like to be royalty. While reading the fake love letter sent from Maria, he imagines telling Toby off.

Malvolio would do anything to become roylaty, even if that means kissing up to Olivia and being hated by Toby, Maria, Andrew, and the fool. He did everything in the letter Maria told him to do. He is wearing yellow stockings, with laces all the way up, and a huge smile.He truly belives Olivia loves him and is now royalty.
